How to install video surveillance? 5 typical mistakes
This is iSon. And today we are going to talk about the mistakes of CCTV installation. I will tell you 5 typical mistakes that our customers make when installing video surveillance systems.
The first mistake is an incorrect assessment of vulnerabilities. Very often it happens that you have a limited budget, you can’t buy a lot of cameras, and you have a choice: where to hang the cameras? And it often happens that our clients hang cameras over the most invulnerable places. That is, roughly speaking, you have a house – a closed area, and it is assumed that the intruder somehow through the fence to penetrate the territory of the house, and he will somehow want to get into the house. At the same time, you have a big iron door and no bars on the windows. And cameras are often hung above the door, and the windows are left unprotected. Accordingly, why hang cameras over the door, when you have an iron door and surely the intruder will want to break the glass and get into the house. This is the first mistake.
The second problem is to never race to install cameras as high up on your property as possible. For some reason, it is commonly believed that the higher the camera, the better and more coverage and, consequently, we will be able to see more. But the farther the camera is located from the object, the correspondingly less clarity. And if, also, you want to buy cameras with a wide viewing angle – this may cause additional problems, because with any CCTV camera, the wider the viewing angle, the correspondingly less clarity. So cameras try to install, the lower the better. But, again, you need to strike a balance so that the cameras could not be pulled off by hand or knocked down with a stick, that is, from 2-3 meters above the ground.

The third mistake, I would call it, is underestimating WiFi wireless video surveillance system. Very often you are stopped in the choice of video surveillance system just the laying of wires and very often it is simply impossible to install a video surveillance system because you need to put a wire between the recorder and the camera. Accordingly, you can install a WiFi video surveillance system. The system will look like that you will have a camera connected to the network, that is, we have an outlet almost everywhere, and there will be no wire between the recorder and the camera. Accordingly, you can install a camera there 100-150 meters away from the DVR, and the camera will transmit a signal. We literally in a short time will be available street WiFi video surveillance kit, very good quality at a very affordable price – will cost only a few thousand more than the analog video surveillance system, so subscribe to our YouTube channel to not miss a video review of all our equipment. We make sure to shoot video reviews.
The fourth mistake, but this is more of a tip, is not integrating a motion sensor into your video surveillance system. Because the simplest DVR can be integrated with a motion sensor or a door opening sensor or a glass break sensor, in order for the system to record directly when you have such an event.
And the fifth, common mistake is not having an Internet connection. That is, the situation when you have Internet at home, you do not connect the video surveillance system to your router, although it is very easy to do, and do not view the video remotely from your phone. I would put it this way: if you have a video surveillance system and you don’t connect it to the Internet, you are only using 30% of its resources.
